This past weekend saw Conservative candidate Festus Akinbusoye being elected as Bedfordshire's next Police and Crime Commissioner.
Mr Akinbusoye said: "We did it. Thank you Bedfordshire for your trust and confidence. I am truly humbled. The real work now begins."
When asked about Festus's victory, our Area Chairman Douglas Hansen-Luke said "Festus won by campaigning hard, visiting our rural heartlands and getting our their votes in an out of series election. As Campaign Director, I was able to see the potential for Beds’ activitists to make a difference and they have. Well done Festus!"
